Ladies night

Tonight Tanling treated all of the ladies in the office to try her new restaurant (East Passion) in Downtown. It's a really big restaurant, $2M investment, nice oriental decoration, and the food are in Canadian Oriental Style. Most of the customers are the working ppl in DT, so during night time they aren't that busy. Tanling told us not to expect so much on the food cos they're basically designed for Caucasians, and u know how picky on food are the Chinese ppl in Vancouver. Well maybe i didn't have expectation so the food turned out better than i thought. We chilled and drank red wine and end up spending 3 hrs there.... what a nice saturday night.

mommy's birthday!

Celebrated my mom's bday at 阿一鮑翅 tonight~ she doesn't usually celebrate her bday but this is her 51st bday today, and our tradition woman celebrates every 1st birthday (like 21st, 31st, 41st...etc) , so we went out for dinner~ i bought her cake and Ben gave her flowers as well~ but since my dad knows 1 of the waiters and 1 of the chefs there, our food were all upgraded and supersized~ honestly I always tell Ben that i really admire my dad, because he's always so popular around his friends. He never really had much education but his friends really like him and respect him. I know the reason behind is my dad always gives instead of takes, and more importantly not afraid of being taken advantage of, and always treat ppl with good heart.... hopefully i'll become such a person as well... :)

Ski Trip 2008 - BigWhite

Jan 5-7, 2008 Ski Trip @ Big White
Pictures are all in Facebook..

In conclusion: what a fun trip! we had 10ppl + baby Michelle going with 3 cars. Best condo we've ever had. Just sleeping space for 10 ppl. As always ski trip is a "gain weight" trip, eating every moment~ we had hot pot in the first night and buffet dinner in the 2nd night. We also watched like 3 movies and their favourite activity is playing Mario Kart + bomberman!!! also it was like watching japanese drama when Aki washing the dish, cuz she really cleaned every single plate thoroughly. So this is probably the last ski trip in a couple of years, hopefully we'll do it again sometimes in the future :)

happy Saturday

Today is another long day: branch meeting + Fidelity branch visit in the morning, always love their presentation cos they are so good in research and analysis. After the meeting had a quick dim sum lunch then drove all the way to Surrey for a kick off event. Didn't really wanna go becuz the event's just so north american style... cheering and yelling GOGOGO. But my boss said if i go, she'll give me a raincheck to have a day off, so for the day off, i went~ -_- At night went to dinner at Rodney's oyster house @ yaletown. Ben wanted to try for a long time so we finally went before he leaves. The decoration of the restaurant is quite marine-style, we sat at the bar and the bar people are so socializing. They keep drinking while they'r working too. Oh ya we also met David Suzuki there, Ben first told me that man looks so familiar and he asked if he's David Suzuki? but of cos i've no idea la... then i heard the waitress said " for two, Suzuki", then we confirmed that's him~ The menu there is really simple, just about 10+ choices, all about seafood, particularly oysters. So if you don't like any seafood, then there's no point to go. So we ordered raw oysters for appetitizers, just tell them what would you like such as sizes, then they'll pick for you. O gosh the oysters r so fresh, the smaller the fresher. They also provide diff kind of sauces for you for the raw oysters (not Tobasco), yummy~ We also ordered a clam chowder, Ahi Tuna and pan fried oysters. The chowder was not really special, but the ahi tuna and pan fried oysters were just so so so good. :P
