Singapore Trip 2011

You know I almost immigrated to Singapore instead of Canada years ago! Since Mom loves Singapore, so it was the 1st choice for my parents when considering immigration. However, this country had a pretty restrictive immigration policy, and my dad was over their age limit at the time we applied, so my mom ended up choosing Canada instead. Well now years later, I finally had a chance to visit this country! In fact, I didn't have too much desire to go to this place, because i always think it's just somewhere similar to HK -- Small Modernized Asian city. But since I could only go for a weekend, so we didn't have any better choice. Anyways, thanks Saimon bringing me there! So, to maxmized our holiday, we left on Friday night and back on Monday morning. We took the United Airlines mid-night flight, arrived the airport at about 1am? (btw, UA is bad, avoid it if possible). Then we searched around to look for free wife just to "check-in" in facebook! Holy smokes we're so mo liu~~~
So the first day was the Universal Studio day. We didn't know until the last minute that it's its Grand Opening Day on May 28, so I was kinda worried that we couldn't get the tickets if it's sold out. In fact it didn't happen, the theme park was much less crowded than what I expected... which is GOOD! We didn't get to wait for long line-up and "ppl mountain ppl sea" everywhere.... so we chose to sleep few more hrs than watching the grand opening parade and arrived at about noon. Its size is similar to HK disneyland, just much less ppl (even on Grand Opening Day!). Maybe because it's still not a popular place for mainland tourists yet la.... then we wondered around the Sentosa Island before back to the firework at night. The weather was hot and humid, but no thunder storm nor strong sun, so it was not TOO suffering.
2nd day was a tiring day. We used our fastest speed and boost our highest energy level to visit most of the rest of the attractions -- Indian Temples, Chinese Temples, China Town, Malls, some Museums... and of cuz the Merlion and the newest Marina Bay Sands Hotel & Casino! ((and left down some $$ as well...) It's amazing to count how many places we visit! but maybe it's only becuz this city is not big.... Btw, I'm eating Laksa for 3 times in 2 days and it's so good. :)
3rd day, slept few hours in a 1 star hotel and headed to Airport at 3:30am, arrived HK at about 8am and back to work in the afternoon. My colleagues said we're crazy but I feel so good~ because only Young ppl would do this, right? v^_^v (((oh btw, Saimon is heading to Vietnam the next day after this trip, I truely admire his eagerness, but I think it's a bit too much lor.....)))

Job change

Sometimes I think I do always have the "luck" to work with a good boss. U know, sometimes it's hard to get along with your teammates & boss, but I think I get the good ones most of the time. Like Stella when I was in Canada, and My boss now. So my boss has been promoted to another position lately, he then asked me whether I would like to "follow" him, or stay at where I am. Without a sec of considering, I said I'll follow him! The reason is pretty complicated yet clear: I think I would get better rewards if I follow him. What kind of rewards? Firstly, a perm job (my biggest desire), Secondly, a new job nature. In fact, I have no idea what I'm going to do if I change to his "division" (because it's a newly set up job area and he's the only person working there now). I just know he'll work with some UHNW (Ultra High Net Worth) Clients in the bank, and I'll assist him. Well, no matter what it is, I'd love to give it a try.

OK another happy thing lately is... I got compliments from my biggest boss after I assisted him for 2 weeks. I didn't expect he would come over to my boss and told him what he thought, I really appreciated it, and I LOVE being recognized after working hard (who doesn't though, right?!) :)

btw...here's the news:

(Temp) Executive Secretary

What an ideal working calendar the past 3 weeks -- we got at least 1 day off during the weekdays, plus the weekends so that means we got 3 days off for every 4 days work, so happpppie! However... this kind of calendar comes to an end after today lu..... >_<

Also, my 2 week interim position of being our office's biggest boss's secretary has also completed. The new secretary just came on board yday....What a big relief !!!! It's totally not as fun as I thought of, but I'm glad I had a chance to experience it... Even though the boss was on biz trip most of the time, I got so nervous and panic whenever he's in the office..... Well, at least the best part was I got to see lots of top confidential things~ @v@
